The RAIN had ended leaving a fine MIST permeating the atmosphere. Floating ominous CLOUD blocked the MOON in the night sky. Giving the area a HAUNTED look, trick-or-treaters didn't seem to mind. They were dressed in a variety of costumes. Dressed as a VAMPIRE, GHOST, BLACK CAT, ORANGE PUMPKIN or WITCH, they went house to house on a CANDY quest to homes with Halloween decorations. All the lights went out and A SCREAM PIERCED THE NIGHT. Then a cloud of BATS hovered overhead, their SOFT bodies occasionally bumping the children. Even thought they did nothing to harm anyone one girl dressed as a witch tried to shoo them away with her BROOM. That made the bats fly higher and soon they were disappeared as if they vanished in thin air. Children were crying despite the fact that nothing had happened, parents who had been nearby rushed over to comfort their children. Suddenly as if by magic the lights were on again and all were happy.
