"Lee, I'm so glad you're here."

Lee stared at her wondering how she got herself into this situation.

"Oh, Lee, don't look at me that way, please."

All he could do was shake his head in disbelief.

"It wasn't my fault, I promise."

Lee nodded to Manny to unlock the jail cell.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you." Dotty grabbed Lee in a bear hug.

"There you go, Lee. You owe me." Manny started walking towards the
door. "Try to keep your girls out of trouble this time."

"Oh, Lee, you won't tell Amanda will you?"

Manny turned back, "You know Mrs. King do you Ma'am?"

"Of course I know her--"

"Umm, Dotty, there's no need--" Lee interrupted.

"Don't interrupt Lee." Dotty turned back and addressed Detective
Trudeau. "Amanda's my daughter. You know her?"

Lee grabbed Dotty and thrust her toward the door. "Bye, Manny."

"You owe me big this time, Stetson. Really big."

Dotty stopped and faced Lee outside the jail. "Lee, why are you in
such a hurry. He really is a nice man, even if he arrested me and
threw me in a jail cell. How does he know Amanda?"

Lee placed his hand on Dotty's back to stop her rambling. "Let's
just get out of here and you can tell me exactly why I was called to
get you out of jail." As he helped her into the `vette and walked
around to the drivers seat he silently praised God that Amanda never
had a daughter. He didn't think he could handle the stress of
keeping the granddaughter of Dotty and the daughter of Amanda out of
trouble. Why did he ever imagine Dotty would be any less trouble
then Amanda?
